In a room attached to the residence of the Juilliard School, while I was attending a conference on Soul Music with Philip Glass, I was sitting next to an elegant woman. I initiated conversation with her and very kindly she introduced herself to me as Patricia Polak. Discovering she was a poet, I requested we meet again to speak further about her work.
